St Helens Theatre Royal to stage Jack and the Beanstalk

St Helens Theatre Royal is set to stage a pantomime production of Jack and the Beanstalk.

Running from February 14 to 22, the family-friendly show is packed with comedy, magic, and surprises.

Chantelle Joseph, theatre manager and director, said: “Jack and the Beanstalk is one of the tallest tales in panto and it’s always a real favourite at St Helens, so I can’t wait to bring it back to the Theatre Royal stage this February.

“We’ve assembled a brilliant cast who are ready to entertain half-term family audiences.

“And I can guarantee young theatregoers a giant adventure, with stunning sets, dazzling costumes and a fantastic selection of song performed live as well as plenty of magic and some big surprises.”

David Heath, known from The X Factor and Eton Road, will play Jack Trott.

Mr Heath returns to the St Helens stage after starring in the same role in 2023.

Before his television fame, he trained in musical theatre at the Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre and was twice a finalist on Sky’s Got to Dance with Dance Dynamix.

Returning cast members include Lewis Devine as Simple Simon, Rachael Wood as Miss Fleshcreep, and Richard Aucott as Dame Dolly Trott.

They will be joined by Lauren McCrory as Princess Jill and Kay Nicholson as Fairy Mary.

Mr Devine is currently appearing as Idle Jack in Dick Whittington, while Ms Wood plays Fairy Bow Bells in the same production.

Mr Aucott, a seasoned panto performer, is currently to be seen as Dame Felicity Fitzwarren in Dick Whittington and has previously played Queen Hermione in Sleeping Beauty.

Ms Nicholson is a comedian and actress, who has appeared twice as Rita in Rita, Sue and Bob Too and was a finalist in the 2025 Funny Women Awards.

Jack and the Beanstalk is directed by Chantelle Joseph with choreography by Nazene Langfield and musical direction by Callum Clarke.

The production is presented by Regal Entertainments Ltd.

Tickets are on sale now starting at £20.
