St Helens Theatre Royal Panto Snow White attracts 40,000

SNOW White and the Seven Dwarfs has become the most popular pantomime to be staged at St Helens Theatre Royal, it has been revealed.

The theatre is celebrating after confirmation the production attracted more than 40,000 people during its six-week festive run.

This is 2,500 people more than the same period last year, making it the theatre’s ‘biggest and best’ pantomime production to date.

The cast was led by pop star Maureen Nolan and Coronation Street actor Emrhys Cooper.

They were joined by a line-up including Chantelle Morgan as Snow White, and St Helens favourites Lewis Devine as Muddles and Richard Aucott as Nurse Nelly.

Pantomime ‘royalty’ Leanne Campbell appeared digitally as the Magic Mirror.

The dwarfs were voiced by legends from the area. such as Johnny Vegas, Joel Ross, Pete Price, Philip Regan, Craig Phillips, Louis Emerick, and John May.

The cast was joined by a supporting company of future West End stars from Nazene Danielle’s School of Dance – Dance Dynamix.

Regal Entertainments Ltd, which stages the popular seasonal shows at the theatre, has been bringing productions to the North West for more than 20 years.

It is run by the mother and daughter duo, Jane Joseph and Chantelle Nolan, who produce four pantomimes each year – during Easter, Christmas, and the February and October half-term holidays.

Panto director and St Helens Theatre manager Chantelle Nolan said: “Snow White really has proved to be the fairest of them all.

“We’re absolutely thrilled our Christmas panto was so popular with St Helens audiences over Christmas and New Year – welcoming and entertaining more than 40,000 people over the six-week run was amazing, and I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who came.

“I also want to thank our wonderful cast and crew, along with our brilliant and hardworking front-of-house team.

“Together they work tirelessly to make Christmas at St Helens Theatre Royal a truly special and magical time.

“Seeing the joy on people’s faces and hearing their laughter is a fantastic feeling and is exactly why we work so hard to give our audiences young and old the best experience possible.”
